I can dig it. I’d like to see them maneuver your typical state or national park to get to their campsite. Even without the last trailer, that thing looks like a handful. I have a hard enough time manuevering my crew cab with 38 foot trailer.

A friend of mine was VERY close to putting a deposit down on a new stretched F-350 to tow his 35' camper with his wife and four kids about 8 years ago. He ended up buying an even bigger 5th wheel camper and an International medium duty tow rig instead.

This seems like the worst possible way to accomplish this.
Other options include
Option A) Get a toy hauler camper and get rid of the utility trailer
Option B) If you already have a utility trailer just get a Suburban/Expedition instead of an insanely expensive stretch pickup (you could probably get a regular pickup in addition to the Suburban/Expedition and still come out ahead)
Option C) Get this stupid thing for your truck http://coronamap.com/
All of which are going to be significantly easier to manage

Do they allow road trains in the US?
This is the most America thing I’ve seen this week.

No-one’s actually going to drive it that fast, right? Guys???

Its legal in more than half the states, usually more south you'll see convoys of Hispanics dragging as many old Toyotas and furniture as their 22rs will carry

I live in TX, right on IH-35, and we see the three-car trains heading south all the time. Four guys can bring back 11 cars. Many of those cars are all beat to hell, too, so probably bought for a song.

What’s scary is knowing some 17 year old is going to buy (what’s left of) that truck in a decade and a half for 4500$.........and they will find a way to lift it higher

I imagine it’s like trying to back up a hay wagon but worse

So just what is the weight distribution like?
It looks like the Polaris is on an aluminum trailer, and if its engine is under the back seat it’s right on top of the axle, but there’s some amount of weight being put on the back (i.e.: wrong) end of the camper.
I reckon the camper weighs so much more than the Polaris/trailer that it might not be that bad. And the absurd length of the tow vehicle helps stability too.

Worse, definitely worse. That has two articulation point, a wagon’s only got one and is ease enough if you just think of the driving the wagon, not the thing it’s hooked to.

A wagon has two...from the front bogie arm to the tractor and then the front bogie to the wagon. Backing them up is fun stuff.

I was thinking toy hauler too, but I would bet that single rear wheel and the stretch puts a limit on their tongue weight which this solves.

I looked. No weight carrying bars on the camper hitch. My guess is that they are counting on the 2nd trailer to put enough lift on the 1st trailer to put it in the range where it wouldn’t need one. Scary.

State parks have been my favorite camping spots by far. Spacious, clean, well enforced rules, and inexpensive.
It’s legitimately like having a home away from home with a nice camper.
I hear the actual camping is nice enough too At state parks. LOL
O nly downside is that a lot of the turns are super tight. I’ve seen plenty of campers scrape trees and drag axles from turning too tight trying to manuever the turns.

I would think the physics of towing and that stretch would favor a higher tongue weight since the bed wasn’t stretched but the wheelbase did.
I’ve towed quite a bit but anytime I see a double trailer set up including a camper I cringe. It has to be such a PITA to maneuver anywhere. This guy must be as long as a semi truck and trailer.
The truck is probably around 25' long, the camper 30'+, and the utility trailer another 12' making this thing probably close to 70' long.

I assume the medium duty truck was probably cheaper too (those stretch conversion are $$$$$$)

You’ve misused ‘magnificent’ as a verb. I’d have used it as an adjective...as in ‘magnificent stupidity’.
There are so many better ways to achieve the same outcome.

Why do I feel like a 40' bus RV with an ass-garage would have been a better solution?
